About Colin Director

When I was a kid I actually wanted to become a comic book artist. I loved to draw and make up little, silly stories. In high school I really got into movies, and when we had to make a short film for french class (of all classes…) I immediately fell in love with the process. The film was total rubbish of course, but I knew making movies was something I wanted to do. And to this day that feeling has only grown stronger.

After high school I didn’t know how to get started, so I had a bunch of jobs until I ended up at the United Broadcasting Company (back then it was the legendary Cinevideogroup) where I started out as an assistant but worked my way up to being a cameraman. I loved every second of it. We shot concerts, theatre productions, sport events, anything you’ve seen on tv.
But it wasn’t film.

So after a few years I quit and went back to school. I got accepted at the Dutch Film Academy, where I studied Directing. There I truly found my calling. I knew I never wanted to do anything else for the rest of my life. After graduating I hooked up with commercial production company In Case of Fire, and we made a bunch of great commercials together. After almost five years amazing years decided to go back to freelancing. I’m currently trying to expand my horizon with more narrative projects, and working hard at developing my own TV show.
